If you’re a mom, you probably have a bottle of amoxicillin somewhere in your family’s story. An ear infection that kept your baby crying all night. Strep throat before a school play. A sick child you would have done anything to help feel better. It’s one of those medicines we count on without ever wondering where it comes from.

When the last American facility authorized to manufacture amoxicillin was facing bankruptcy, Rick stepped in and saved it. Because he acted, this essential medicine can still be made here in America instead of our families depending entirely on foreign countries to produce it.

Most parents will never know Rick played a part in protecting a medicine their children may need. But I do—and as a mom, I’m incredibly grateful.
